LEWISTON — Aspiring chefs and business people will have a number of options with the new schedule of summer classes from Lewiston Adult Education.
Greg Yates will teach a number of classes related to Quickbooks. Students interested in learning more about accounting software can take the Essentials of Quickbooks Bootcamp or Special Topics in Quickbooks classes.
The Culinary Arts Certificate will begin on July 6 at the Green Ladle with instructors including Chef Dan Caron, Chef Brianne Doyle and Chef Rebecca Levesque. It will include six or more hours of catering experience as students work as interns.
The B Street Community Center will have two formats for the College Transition Program. Both are 12 weeks, with one that is based in a classroom and the other with classroom and online sessions.
The Certified Nursing Assistant class is scheduled to begin on June 26 at Lewiston High School. It is an accelerated summer program that will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.
Students can be admitted to the program after completing a screening and interview. All students must take the Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System before they can be considered for the program. Students can schedule for the CASAS test by calling 207-795-4141.
