Turner Clothing center to reopen
TURNER — The North Turner Union Presbyterian Church is happy to announce that the Turner Clothing center will reopen for the season from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 17. The center is located just off Rt 219, in a Gazebo shaped building across from the North Turner Post Office.
The clothing center offers gently used clothing and shoes for the whole family at very reasonable prices. It will be open 6 to 8 p.m., every Wednesday . through the beginning of October, weather permitting. Proceeds from the sale of clothing go to help meet the needs of the Turner community.
New Gloucester Society to meet
NEW GLOUCESTER — “Local Civil War Veterans” will be the title of the New Gloucester Historical Society meeting, at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at the New Gloucester Meetinghouse, 389 Intervale Road, Route 231.
The speakers will be Tom Blake and Carol Manchester.
The meeting is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
Widows Connection monthly breakfast
AUBURN — For widows who are seeking fellowship, encouragement, support and fun, the East Auburn Baptist Church will host a monthly Widows Connection breakfast at 9 a.m. on the third Saturday of the month.
Following breakfasts, the widows will have a 30- to 40-minute workshop on different topics of interest.
The workshop is free, and the breakfast costs $5. Reservations are required.
