EAST DIXFIELD — The Franklin County Young Farmers 4-H Club held a thank-you supper for local firefighters May 6 at the East Dixfield Fire station to thank them for volunteering their time to help keep them safe.

Young Farmers members invited the fire departments of the towns in which the members live, which was the Chesterville, East Dixfield and Wilton fire departments.

Members made spaghetti and meatballs, tossed salad, cupcakes, cake and thank-you goodie bags for the firefighters and presented each department with a framed certificate.

4-H members gave a thank-you speech and presented an acrostic poem for the word “firefighters,” which read: Fearless, Important, Responsible, Energetic, Family-Friends, Intelligent, Generous, Hopeful, Talented, Extinguishing, Rational, Strong.

The Franklin County Young Farmers 4-H Club members are AmberLeah Smith, Matthew Smith Jr., Mason Wills, Victoria Wills, Phoebe Wills, Daira Gerrish, Cyrish Gerrish and William Gerrish.
