Why am I not surprised that my representative Bruce Poliquin voted with the Republican majority to do away with the ACA and replace it with a bill that ensures that all too many of my fellow citizens will lose their insurance?
This is a return to the dark days of the “free market,” which did nothing to guarantee that sick people receive the care they needed, but did allow those companies to make huge profits by denying needed care.
We have had “free markets” for decades and, as a result, 45 million Americans were not insured and 45,000 died prematurely every year of treatable diseases. So when Rep. Poliquin says let the free markets work, where has he been all these years?
