Library closing early on May 10
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Public Library will close at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10.
City of Lewiston Information Technology staff will be performing a library telephone server upgrade at that time. The upgrade is expected to take several hours to complete.
The previously scheduled adult craft program, “Framed Flowers” will still take place at 5 p.m. that evening. The program is full and closed for further sign-ups.

Pleasant Hill Cemetery Assoc. meeting
SABATTUS — The Pleasant Hill Cemetery Association Annual Meeting will be at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, at the Sabattus Town Office.
Lot owners are encourage to attend.
‘T.A.L.K.’ art gallery cancelled
LEWISTON — The Lewiston Youth Advisory Council’s “T.A.L.K.” Art Gallery scheduled for May 10 has been cancelled.
Having received only 23 entries from pre-kindergarten to grade eight students, the content is not enough for a full gallery setting.
Instead of hosting the gallery that evening, the youth council will be meeting to decide how to best utilize the entries they did receive to further promote the T.A.L.K. campaign.

Pine Cone Chapter, OES, to meet
AUBURN — Pine Cone Chapter 26, Order of the Eastern Star, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 11, at the Masonic Hall, 1021 Turner St.
The Chapter will honor past Matrons and Patrons for all their years of service to the Order of the Eastern Star.
On April 27, Pine Cone welcomed Cheryl Shearer into the Chapter. Brett Jervis, Grand Sentinel, was Worthy Patron and Richard Farnsworth III, Associate Grand Patron, was Associate Patron for the Degrees.
The meeting will be preceded with a potluck supper at 6 p.m.
All Easter Star members are welcome.
Lake Auburn ‘Trash Off!’
AUBURN — The second annual Lake Auburn “Trash Off!” neighborhood cleanup challenge will take place from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 13. Rain date will be Saturday, May 20.
Those interested in helping may meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Lake Auburn Community Center. A neighborhood barbecue will follow at the community center.

Drumming group making a beat
LEWISTON — The Hand Drumming Group plays from 1 to 3 p.m. on the second Sunday of the month, at Trinity Church, 247 Bates St. The group will play next on May 14.
All levels and styles of drummers can play, and they can bring their own instrument or try one of the club’s drums. The cost to play is by donation.
Fun with Physics, May 16
AUBURN — The Auburn Public Library will conclude its Curious Minds Series with Fun with Physics on Tuesday, May 16, at 49 Spring St.
The program, led by Hugh Keene, will take place at 2 p.m. in the Androscoggin Community Room.
Keene received a B.A. from the University of Maine at Farmington, an M.A. at the University of Maine in Orono and an advanced degree in physics from Wesleyan University. He chaired the Science Department at Edward Little High School for 28 years.
Sabattus seeks parade participants
SABATTUS — The Sabattus Memorial Day parade will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, May 29, at the American Legion Hall on Island road. All local civic and youth organizations are invited to participate in the ceremony.
Those attending should be at the Sabattus American Legion Hall no later than 10:30 a.m.
Music will be provided by members of the RSU 4 middle and high school bands, who will also perform the National Anthem and Taps. Music will also be provided by the Oak Hill High School’s Voices of Color, singing selected songs for the ceremony.
