U. S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel has approved an agreement for President Donald Trump to pay $25 million to settle lawsuits over his now-defunct Trump University, ending nearly seven years of legal battles with customers who claimed they were misled by failed promises to teach success in real estate. Plaintiff’s attorneys said approximately 3,730 people will get at least 90 percent of their money back.
Trump fueled the controversy by repeatedly accusing Judge Curiel, insinuating that the Indiana-born judge’s Mexican heritage was biased against him.
The New York Attorney General stated that, “Trump University’s victims waited years for compensation.”
And Trump is the new President? How much has he accomplished in his first 100 days? Why does he spend so much time at Mar-a-Lago in Florida trying to conduct our business? Do our taxes pay for him to entertain at Mar-a-Lago?
How have President Trump and the Republican Party failed so miserably? Will his party allow him to use our tax dollars to pay for the wall between the U.S. and Mexico? Will they be able to come up with a better health insurance plan for all?
It’s doubtful.
Is that the kind of a man that we can be proud to call president — of our U.S.?
