LIVERMORE — Police believe there is a connection between a stabbing and a man who called the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s dispatch center Tuesday night to report he was waiting for police with a gun at a convenience store on Route 4.
The report is still under investigation, Androscoggin County Chief Deputy William Gagne said Wednesday.
“We believe one person is involved in both (incidents),” he said.
The man, who has not been identified, has not been charged, Gagne said.
Once deputies finish collecting evidence and complete a report, it will be turned over the District Attorney’s Office for review, Gagne said.
The stabbing happened around 6 p.m. and it involved two strangers and a scuffle in the parking lot of Long Green Variety. The stabbing was minor and no one needed medical attention, Deputy Troy Young said Tuesday.
A few hours later, police were called by a man who said he had a gun and was waiting for them at Long Green Variety.
When police got there, Young said, they did not find the man.
