OTISFIELD — Updates on an energy-saving program and a sign ordinance are on the agenda for Wednesday’s selectmen meeting at 7 p.m. at the Town Office.

Selectmen voted April 19 to move forward with a proposal by Efficiency Maine to install LED lights in the Town Office building on Route 121.

Administrative Assistant Anne Pastore said in March that she learned about the nonprofit organization that looks to “lower the cost and environmental impacts of energy in Maine by promoting cost-effective energy efficiency and alternative energy systems.”

One of the programs it offers is “80 percent rebates on (installing) energy-saving LED fixtures,” she said.

At the April 19 board meeting, Pastore said Efficiency Maine did an assessment of the building and determined the cost to replace all of the fixtures and lights would be $8,655, with the town responsible for $1,418.

The assessment also determined that the town would see a 68 percent reduction in annual electrical costs.

Also Wednesday, the board will discuss the status of a sign ordinance that the Ordinance and Policy Review Committee has been developing since September. Committee Chairman Joe Zilinsky said members have been looking at ordinances from other towns.

Also on the agenda is a discussion with Marc Corriveau on his application for the Conservation Committee.
