AUBURN — Rita Brodeur of Auburn celebrated 100 years when her five children, Fred, Anita, Yvonne, Denise and Roger and spouses, hosted a birthday party.

Her sisters, Raymonde Blouin and Gloria Bernard, joined her at the table of honor. Her brother, Brother Francis Blouin, was unable to attend due to illness.

Mrs. Brodeur’s birthday is Jan. 15.

Toasts, speeches and songs were presented in her honor by children and grandchildren, including her oldest grandson, Peter Blanchette.. Words used to describe her include kind, generous, loving, patient and resourceful.

Grandchildren in attendance were: Michelle and Matt Brodeur, Peter Blanchette (and Colleen), Julie Maloney (and Mike, Addison and Taya), Yvonne Whitney (and Jessica and Justin Whitney), Lindsey Merritt (and Evan and Elise and Blake,) April Pondant (and Nick, Sr. and Nick Jr.) and Meilin Brodeur.

Unable to attend but sending wishes through Skype were grandchildren Katherine Pittman (and Gabriel, Karis and Geonathan,) and Kristin Mastroianni (and Anna, Joshua and Elizabeth.)
