AUBURN — Marjorie L. Soucy, 72, a resident of Dixfield, passed away after a brief illness at the Hospice House of Androscoggin in Auburn on Wednesday, April 26.
She was born the youngest of 10 to Albert and Geneva McKinnon on Oct. 19, 1944. She was a 1964 graduate of Mexico High School. On May 2, 1970, she married Albert H. Soucy and together they shared 42 happy years before his passing on April 7, 2012. Before becoming a homemaker, she worked at Bass Shoe Co. in Wilton and Dick’s Restaurant in Mexico.
Margie had a love of family and enjoyed many family gatherings with sisters, nieces, nephews and friends. She and Al loved to travel, having visited Hawaii, Las Vegas, London and France as well as many trips to Foxwoods Casino. Margie also loved Sunday afternoons when she could enjoy watching the New England Patriots, with a special fondness for Tom Brady.
She lived life for her children and grandchildren, making many happy memories with them. We will miss her oatmeal-filled cookies, whoopie pies and chocolate roll.
Margie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Jerry Richard and their daughters, Natalie and Emily of Rumford and daughter Darcy Soucy of Auburn; and sisters Jean Cote of Rumford and Barbara and her husband, Bill Hodge, of Dixfield.
She was predeceased by her husband, Al; brother, James; and sisters Ramona, Dorothy, Evelyn, Shirley, Jackie and Florence (Pappy).
The family is grateful to Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice and the Hospice House for the care and comfort they provided Margie in her final days.
