LEWISTON — Joseph “Roger” Landry, 79, of Beckett Street in Lewiston, passed away Sunday, April 23, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness, with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Lewiston, March 25, 1938, the son of Adelard and Angelina (Fortin) Landry. Roger was a 1956 graduate of St. Dominic High School. Following his education, Roger was a 28-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force, retiring in 1984. He then was employed at White Rock Distillery for 13 years.
He was a loyal member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 106 where he served as the council recorder for 13 years, and was a member of Holy Cross Church.
Survivors include his wife, the former Nadette Dufresne of Lewiston; their children, Diane Cardello and husband, Chris, of Rome, N.Y., Daniel Landry, also of Rome, N.Y., Doris Landry of Lewiston, Donald Landry of Florida and son-in-law, Paul Arena of Rome, N.Y.; two brothers, Leo Landry and wife, Linda, of Greene, and Maurice Landry and wife, Ethel, of Lewiston. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Michael, Danielle, Matthew, Renee, Curtis, Gauvin, Joseph, Stephen, Matthew and Nicole; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one daughter, Denise Arena.
