FARMINGTON — Echo and Maggie are the Pets of the Week at the Franklin County Animal Shelter.

Dog of the Week Jones is looking for a running buddy. He is 1 to 3 years old of unknown breeding and is a high-energy dog who loves to go. He is very social and enjoys meeting new people with a bouncy greeting. Jones gets along well with other dogs, however, he plays too rough with cats, so would do better in a home without cats. 

Yukio, the Cat of the Week, is a 1 to 3 year old male who is affectionate and snugly. He enjoys being lazy in his kennel away from the commotion of other cats. He also enjoys eating and cuddling.

Yukio, Jones and other pets may be visited at the shelter from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays at 550 Industry Road. Cats and dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption and have been vaccinated for rabies, treated for fleas, microchipped and have had nail trims. The shelter also rehomes barn cats, livestock and other pets.
