Season outlook: The Phoenix have a small senior class and are an overall young team, but have a strong nucleus of juniors and sophomores. The bulk of their experience is in the sprints, jumps and racewalk. The throw team, led by Howes, Baker, Frost and Parker, is expecting improvements from last year. The coaching staff said the team progressed well in the preseason despite the weather.
