SOUTH PARIS — Nadja Bolio, 82, of Bryant Pond went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 10, at Market Square Health Care Center, with family by her side.
She was born in Peabody, Mass., Dec. 20, 1934, the daughter of John and Efrosinia Prokopovich. She graduated from Peabody High School in 1952. In June 1958, Nadja married Ernest Henry Bolio at the Russian Baptist Church in Peabody, Mass. They were happily married for 54 years and raised seven children.
Nadja was employed as a secretary/bookkeeper for many years at various locations in Massachusetts and Maine. While living in Bryant Pond, she worked at Stowell Wood Products, Mollyockett Motel, Woodstock Elementary School and the Whitman Memorial Library. She was an active member of the Bryant Pond Baptist Church, playing the piano and teaching the women’s Sunday school class.
Nadja enjoyed writing. She wrote newspaper articles, compiled a cookbook and wrote a book about motherhood. Nadja also enjoyed painting and crafting. She is the designer of the current logo for the town of Woodstock.
She was predeceased by her parents and her husband.
She is survived by and greatly missed by her children, siblings and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her children are Ernest J., Eric and his wife, Annette, Bruce and his wife, Sandra, Brenda Gora, Glori Murphy and her husband, Greg, Jaimee Mishler and her husband, Michael, and Hunee Ebbrect and her husband, Steve; and her siblings are Victor Prokopovich and wife, Maria, William Prokopovich and wife, Cary, and Lydia Coombs.
The family is thankful for the staff at Market Square Health Care Center for their care and attention to Nadja and her family while she resided there.
