WEST GARDINER — Constance J. Bowie, 85, of Neck Road died Sunday, April 9, at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta from injuries she sustained from a fall at a local long-term care facility.

She was born in Augusta on Feb. 23, 1932, the daughter of Archelas Grenier and Alice (Bilodeau) Grenier.

Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Bowie was employed by Wal-Mart. She was previously employed by the Maine Department of Human Services for 25 years. She had also been employed by Bates Manufacturing for 17 years.

Mrs. Bowie had attended St. Leo’s Chapel in Litchfield and she was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne Society.

She was predeceased by her parents; by a son, Michael Bowie; a granddaughter, Cathy Linton; by five brothers, Norman, Ralph, Raoul, Alfred and Emery Grenier; and five sisters, Juliette Greenleaf, Lilly Stoddard, Emelienne Lamontagne, Lorraine Sirois and Jeanne d’Arc Meyers.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia Linton of Saco, and Debra Bowie of Colorado Springs, Colo.; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
