NORWAY — Stephens Memorial Hospital Director of Development and Community Relations Abbie Graiver has announced that a scholarship from the Zach Newell Scholarship Fund was awarded to Zachary Crepes to help advance his educational efforts.
The Zach Newell Scholarship was established by Stanley and Mary Jane Newell in memory of their son, Zach, who aspired to become an emergency medical technician.
Mary Jane Newell said, “We are very happy to present this scholarship to Zachary. This is what Zach would have wanted.”
The scholarship provides assistance for PACE Ambulance EMTs at Stephens Memorial Hospital to further their training.
Crepes will attend an Advanced EMT course to upgrade his EMS medical license, one step closer to becoming a paramedic. Once his training is complete, he will be able to provide a higher level of care to his patients.
He lives with his wife and daughter on Paris Hill.
