Bridgton Hospital recently presented its most recent DAISY Award to Sara Kapinos, RN, second from right. Kapinos’ supporters said she always goes the extra mile for her patients. Her nomination story included details of the many hours she dedicated to phone calls to a patient’s provider, hospitalists and gastroenterologist coordinating an admission to ensure the patient would be able to have a procedure. Her flexibility to float between units and her critical thinking skills make Kapinos a great team player and positive asset to Bridgton Hospital, supporters said. From left are Rob Slattery, vice president of operations; Karen Harding, RN, director of Acute Care Services; Jill Rollins, RN; Kapinos; and Donna Goodridge, RN, clinical educator/In Patient Unit coordinator.
