TULSA, Okla. — Myrna Day Henry, 76, of Broken Arrow, Okla., passed away Wednesday, March 8, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Okla., after a battle with cancer.
She was born Dec. 22, 1940, in Toledo, Ohio, to Earl Hammond and Mary Elizabeth (Rang) Day and graduated from Montpelier High School in 1958. She graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1963 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in education.
Myrna was married to Dallas Henry on June 4, 1961, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Montpelier, Ohio. She was an elementary school teacher, teaching 10 years in public education and 31 years in Christian education. She retired from teaching at Oxford Hills Christian Academy in April 2016.
Myrna is survived by her husband, Dallas Henry, of Broken Arrow, Okla.; her sister, Mary Fuller, of Springfield, Mo.; and her sister-in-law, Marinete Day, of Raytown, Mo. She is also survived by her children, Timothy Henry and wife, Rachel of Windham, Lydia and husband, Gary Bell of Norwich, N.Y., and Miriam and husband, Glenn Shaw, of Tulsa, Okla.; and grandchildren, Leora Henry of Carson City, Nev., and Luke Brewer of Tulsa, Okla.
