Police closed a 10-mile stretch of Route 2 around Rumford Center on Friday because a suicidal person was barricaded in a building, Rumford Police Chief Stacy Carter said. Rob Dixon of the Rumford Fire Department instructs a motorist to turn around.

Around noon Friday, Rumford Police Chief Stacy Carter stated that the Rumford Center portion of town was shut down for a barricaded subject who is suicidal.
