LEWISTON — Judy (Young) Sanderson, 69, of Auburn, passed away peacefully Friday, Feb. 17, at Central Maine Medical Center, with her family at her side.
Judy was born in Needham, Mass., on Sept. 28, 1947, and spent most of her childhood in Naples. She graduated from Bridgton High School in 1965 and then went on to business school in Portland.
On March 6, 1983, she married the love of her life, Andrew Sanderson, and they spent much of their married life in Cape Cod, Mass., and Auburn. Over the years, Judy worked for several organizations, retiring from Maine Public Broadcasting Corp.
Judy was a longtime standing member of Thomas Memorial Baptist Church in Lewiston. She enjoyed collecting beautiful antiques, leisurely rides in the countryside, swimming and most of all, she dearly loved the many cats she had over her lifetime.
Judy is survived by her husband, Andrew Sanderson of Auburn; her niece, Debbie Shaw of Portland; her aunts, Lennie Butler and Janice Shanahan of Auburn; her sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law and their spouses of Florida; and several cousins.
She was predeceased by her sister, Georgia Shaw; her mother, Berta Young; and her father, George Young.
