FARMINGTON — A pickup truck and a tractor-trailer flatbed collided Wednesday morning on Route 27, just south of the Barker Road intersection, officer Ryan Rosie said.
There were no injuries, he said.
When the southbound pickup truck went around a corner, the northbound tractor-trailer truck was moving over to go around a Maine Department of Transportation truck pushing back snowbanks.
Seth Rackliffe, 28, of Wilton tried to slow his pickup plow truck, but it went broadside and the plow hit the front of tractor-trailer, Rosie said.
The rig was driven and owned by Jason Corey, 42, of Bridgton, Rosie said.
Corey also tried to avoid the collision, Rosie said.
Rackliffe’s truck was going too fast for the slippery road conditions, Rosie said.
Farmington Fire Rescue Department assisted with traffic control at the accident, which was reported at 9:39 a.m. The road was shut down for about 40 minutes as Collins Enterprises Inc. of Wilton put the 2009 International tractor-trailer on a flatbed trailer. The truck had front-end damage.
The collision tore the plow off the pickup truck, but Rackliffe was able to drive the truck.
