FARMINGTON — Gabby, a DNA tested American Staffordshire, boxer and chow mix, and cats, Gale and Danielle, are the Pets of the Week at the Franklin County Animal Shelter.

The Cats of the Week are a love affair. Gale, a yearling male, and Danielle, 6-month-old female, are completely inseparable after just a few days together. They sleep in each other’s kennels, headbutt each other constantly, and walk in tandem everywhere they go. They hope to go to one home together where they can grow out of being shy and learn to love people.

Three-year-old Gabby is the Dog of the week. She is smart and playful with a strong personality. She is good with some other dogs, but prefers to be the boss of the canines. She likes to be busy, and is happiest when her mind is engaged. She has an independent streak, but is polite and easy to work with. She would like a home without small children or cats.

Gabby, Gale, Danielle and other pets may be visited at the shelter from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays at 550 Industry Road. Cats and dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption and have been vaccinated for rabies, treated for fleas, microchipped and have had nail trims. The shelter also rehomes barn cats, livestock and other pets.
