Sprouts: 10:30 to 10:50 a.m. Saturdays, Feb. 18 and 25, in the Children’s Room. This is a rousing lap-sit program for babies through 36 months of age and their caregivers. Participants will gather on the story quilt for songs, nursery rhymes, dancing and making friends.
Sweet Peas: 10:30 to 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, in the Children’s Room. This lap-sit program for children ages 24 to 36 months and their caregivers will take place on the story quilt for stories, songs, rhythm instruments, fingerplays and flannel board fun.
Pre-School Story Time: 10 a.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 15 and 22, in the Maggie Trafton Room. This is a story program for children ages 3 to 5 (and experienced listeners who are almost 3) to hear stories, sing songs and make crafts.

KIDS! Meteorites: 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, in the Maggie Trafton Room. Kids can have an “out of this world” experience — literally. They’ll see rocks that have fallen to Earth from asteroids, Mars, the moon and comets. They find out how to search for them and details about the recent fireball seen over Maine. Those who attend may start their own collection of meteorites while supplies last.
KIDS! Vacation LEGO Club: 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, in the Maggie Trafton Room. This is a special vacation version of the monthly LEGO Club for kids ages 5 and older. The library will provide the space and the LEGOs. Kids just need to come with their imaginations. Space is limited, so the program will be run on a first-come-first-served basis. This program is not suitable for very young children; small pieces can present a choking hazard.
KIDS! Parachute Play: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, in the Androscoggin Community Room. Kids ages 4 to 8 can burn off energy and play with a parachute. Space is limited, and registration is required.
KIDS! Wednesday Crafternoon: 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, in the Children’s Room. Kids can drop by the library for crafting on the fourth Wednesday of the month. The library will provide two to three projects that kids can make and personalize. This month, to celebrate the children’s origami exhibit, participants will make origami bookmarks. The program is geared for kids in grades second through sixth.
Tweens! Tech Tuesday Squishy Circuits: 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, in the Maggie Trafton Program. Kids ages 9 to 12 are may create dynamic play-dough sculptures that light up and buzz. The library will supply the squishy circuit kits, and tweens will supply the imagination. The kits will remain property of the library, but kids may take as many pictures of their creation as they like. Supplies are limited, and registration is required.
KIDS! OrigamiUSA Children’s Origami Exhibit: Through March 15 in the Children’s Room. Kids and families may drop by the children’s room to see the OrigamiUSA Children’ s Origami Exhibit. It features origami created by children all over the world.
