AUBURN — Kat Perry, program manager of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Androscoggin, Franklin and Oxford counties, will be the guest speaker at the Auburn-Lewiston Rotary Breakfast Club meeting on Feb. 8.

Perry has lived in Androscoggin County for over 20 years and has committed the past 25 years of her professional life to supporting victims of violence in one capacity or another.

Perry was part of the initial multidisciplinary team that spearheaded the Children’s Advocacy Center movement in the state of Maine back in 2004 and has worked to ensure that this collaborative effort with community partner organizations strives for quality assurance and best practices when jointly responding to the initial outcry of child abuse in our communities.

In the past year, Perry has inspired more than 70 volunteers and donations of over $53,000 in support of a new freestanding neutral, child-centered space for young victims of violence in our communities to come tell their story and begin the journey of healing.

The Auburn-Lewiston Rotary Breakfast Club meets weekly Wednesday mornings at 7 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, 439 Park Ave.
