JAY — Police are investigating unrelated reports of Hi-Point handguns being stolen from two residences.

Detective Michael Mejia said Monday there was no forced entry to the houses.

A .40-caliber handgun was reported missing Jan. 14 on Warren Hill Road. A 9 mm handgun was reported missing from a Granite Heights residence on Friday.

There is no exact time frame for the thefts. Homeowners last saw the guns a while ago, Mejia said.

“We are following leads,” he said.
