ROCKLAND (AP) — A Portland man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after admitting he abducted a woman last fall by grabbing her off a street in Rockland and choking her until she passed out.

Shane Hall pleaded guilty to charges including kidnapping, aggravated assault and criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon.

Police say a masked man attacked the woman. She later passed out and later woke up in the passenger seat of his SUV.

A chase ensued when Hall refused to stop for an officer who saw him driving erratically.

Hall lost control and crashed. The woman wasn’t badly hurt.
