OAKLAND — The BPW/Maine Futurama Foundation is offering four scholarships to be awarded to Maine women with financial need. In 2017, each scholarship provides $1,200.

The Lemieux-Lovejoy Youth Scholarship, given in memory of the late Rachel E. Lemieux of Augusta and in memory of the late Arline Andrews Lovejoy of Winthrop and Wayne, is awarded to a high school senior or recent graduate who will enroll in the fall in an accredited college or training program of more than one year in length.

The Continuing Education Scholarship is awarded to a woman whose post-secondary education is in progress with at least one year of an accredited college or training program completed.

The Webber Group Career Advancement Scholarship is awarded to a woman 30 years of age or older who is enrolled in an accredited college or training program of study.

The Jeanne L. Hammond Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a woman who is a Maine resident with demonstrated financial need who wishes to obtain an undergraduate degree or certificate on at least a half-time basis.

Applications and supporting documents are submitted to Marilyn Ladd, office manager, BPW/Maine Futurama Foundation, 103 County Road, Oakland, ME 04963, or email mvladd@colby.edu and are available at the guidance office of area high schools and/or the financial aid offices of Maine colleges and can be printed from the Futurama Foundation website.
