1925 – 2016
FARMINGTON — Rose C. Labbe, 91, a former resident of Jay, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 14, at Pinewood Terrace in Farmington.
She was born April 6, 1925, in Riley, the daughter of Benardino Cornelio and Alice (Angelo) Cornelio. Rose was a graduate of Jay High School. On Oct. 22, 1945, at St. Mary’s Church in Riley, she married Emile Labbe. He passed away Dec. 2, 1981. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and took great pride in caring for her family and her home.
She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, and the VFW Post 3335 Ladies Auxiliary. Rose enjoyed playing cards, Beano, making Afghans, candlepin bowling and making her peanut butter fudge.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Drottar and her husband, Peter, of Illinois; her sons, Alan Labbe and his wife, Kerry, of Livermore, Dan Labbe and his wife, Donna, of Jay, and Neil Labbe and his wife, Cindy, of Old Town; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, Peter Cornelio, James Cornelio and his wife, Paula, and Thomas Cornelio and his companion, Linda Stanhope; and three sisters, Angie Lowe and her husband, Don, Louise Oakes (Dolly) and her husband, Don, and Gloria Tardiff and her husband, Richard; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; her son, Roland Labbe; her sisters, Mary and Millie Belskis; and brothers, Louie and John Cornelio.
The family would like to thank Pinewood Terrace for their loving care for Rose over the past 7 years.
