1930 – 2016

AUBURN — Robert H. Carro, 86, of Andover and formerly of Oxford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 11, at the Hospice House in Auburn.

Robert was born in Otisfield on Nov. 26, 1930, a son of Paul and Maude Carro and attended West Paris High School.

He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, serving in Japan.

For most of his life, Bob worked as a machinist and had worked for NASA. He had also been employed by Maine Machine Products in South Paris. After his retirement, he operated his own vegetable stand at his residence at Oxford Station.

He married Rebecca A. Dindlebeck on June 30, 1951. She passed away Jan. 1, 2013.

Surviving are his daughter, Donna Smith, and her husband, David, of Andover; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Besides his wife, Bob is predeceased by his 12 siblings.
