Buckfield’s jump up from Class D to Class C didn’t affect the bottom line much. The Bucks went 6-13 in 2014-15 and then finished 6-12 last season. The only real difference was that they didn’t make the postseason last year.

As it was a season ago, the objective for the 2016-17 Bucks will be to continuously get better.

“This will be a season where success will be measured in terms of the team’s improvement, both individually and collectively, over the course of the season,” third-year coach Ryan Wilkins said, “and not in terms of how many wins and losses it has.”

Buckfield has a nice core of returners, including seniors Kali Litchfield, Abigail Shields and Emily Swartz.

Wilkins said attitude and effort will be major keys this season for the Bucks.

“I think if the team is strong in both of those areas, it will show great improvement over the course of the season,” Wilkins said.
