The Falcons have a young, athletic nucleus with which to make a run at a playoff berth after missing out by the thinnest of margins last year.
Jacob Blanchard and Keegan Davis saw significant playing time as freshmen and coach Tom Danylik expects the other underclassmen to fit into the fold even while they continue to experience some growing pains. They will be tested early with Boothbay and Winthrop as their first two opponents.
“It’s a good group that’s played a lot together at the lower levels and so we expect to make progress in terms of results and identity,” Danylik said.
Zach Burgess, a quick defensive specialist, lends much-needed experience to the backcourt. Blanchard will slide over to point guard after playing off-guard last year. They don’t have a lot of size,, so they’ll hope to create running opportunities with pressure and turnovers.
