LEWISTON — The Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce offers the next in its HR Thursdays: Human Resources seminar series — “Creative Strategies for Attracting Employees from Various Talent Pools” — from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, at the Chamber’s conference room, 415 Lisbon St., Lewiston.

This seminar will be a panel discussion with officials from businesses that have successfully attracted people from underutilized talent pools. Representatives from small and large, for-profit and nonprofit businesses, along with educational organizations, will talk about their efforts to incorporate refugees, immigrants, older workers, people with disabilities, veterans and people with criminal histories into their workforce.

The conversation will provide information and strategies that others can use to diversify their workforce and ensure the talent needed to run a business during a labor shortage.

HR Thursdays is a partnership of the LA Metro Chamber of Commerce, Central Maine Human Resource Association and the Lewiston CareerCenter.

Cost for this workshop is $25 for members, $50 for nonmembers, free for CMHRA members.
