NORTH BRIDGTON — The Lake Region Community Chorus is preparing for its fourth annual Winter Concert at Bridgton Academy.
Performances will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, in Twitchell Chapel.
The choral group is made up of 52 members from 14 towns in the Lake Region. The program offers a great variety of musical styles, including classical and popular.
The chorus will perform a blend of holiday and winter songs, including Pachelbel’s “Canon in D, “John Rutter’s “We Wish You Christmas” and the popular “Silver Bells.”
The Rev. Cynthia Priem will join the chorus’ instrumental accompanying team on violin and Mark Priola will play percussion. Zachary Gray will accompany on trumpet and Bernie Vigna on African drums. There will be other musical surprises, including Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus” with audience participation.
The chorus is directed by Jan Jukkola, Susan Stockwell and Dan Allen and accompanied by Carolyn Stanhope with assistants, Sara-Sue Schreiber and Nancy Capone.
Donations to help cover operating costs will be gratefully accepted.
