NAPLES — Maine state police say they have identified the victim of a fatal shooting.

Police say 55-year-old Richard Diekema’s body was found inside a mobile home when police confronted suspected shooter Norman Strobel. Police shot and killed 59-year-old Strobel during the confrontation on Sunday after an exchange of gunfire.

Police say Strobel had recently moved into the mobile home, where Diekema also lived. They say Strobel was also involved in a shooting on Saturday in Casco in which he shot 32-year-old Middletown, Rhode Island, resident Jason Almeida four times.

Almeida was transported to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston where he was scheduled for surgery.
