Overview: Monmouth makes its first Class C state championship appearance facing perhaps its toughest test yet. Washington is the defending state champion and has won 35 games in a row despite returning just three starters from last year’s team. Lowe, who scored the golden goal to beat Waynflete in last year’s title game, is a member of Bermuda’s U21 national team.Along with Sanchez, Manzi and Gombo, he helped the Raiders outscore opponents, 152-13. The Mustangs may be the stingiest team they’ve faced, with more shutouts (10) than goals allowed (8). Pomerleau, the Mountain Valley Conference’s player of the year, scored more than half of their goals this year with 34, two away from the school record. His running-mate, Foulke, and Richardson, a formidable two-way player, are also scoring threats.
