Maine’s economy and job creation are lagging. Maine workers and businesses need state senators who have experience with business development.
There is an independent candidate for the Maine Senate in District 14 who knows business and its needs. That candidate is Joe Pietroski.
Pietroski served as the executive assistant to Congressman David Emery, where he focused on the needs of Maine businesses and workers. Following an appointment by President Ronald Reagan to the U.S. Department of Commerce, he joined International Paper Co. in Jay. In 1989, he was chosen to be the president of the Maine Bankers Association, where he was active in economic development planning. Among the job creation projects he championed were MBNA, fiber optic expansion statewide and, my project, the Winthrop Commerce Center.
Maine’s economy needs Pietroski’s business expertise. I hope others will join me in voting for Joe Pietroski, independent candidate for state Senate on Nov. 8.
Louis Carrier, Winthrop
