Voters in Auburn, Minot, Mechanic Falls, New Gloucester and Poland have an opportunity to elect three competent, experienced female candidates.
Kimberly Sampson (Senate District 20) is a dental hygienist whose interest in health-care policy led her to graduate from law school this year, giving her an understanding of the issues the district faces regarding health care.
Bettyann Sheats (House District 64) is a veteran of the U.S. Army and runs her own small business. She understands the importance for small businesses to increase revenue.
Gina Melaragno is a first-term legislator (House District 62) who is focused on the needs of the people in her district rather than political advancement. She grew up in Auburn and understands Auburn’s needs, and represents them well in Augusta.
Maine needs thoughtful and knowledgeable people such at Sampson, Sheats and Melaragno, who can work for their constituents in a challenging environment.
