It is inconceivable that a special agent with the U.S. government would stoop to criticizing Sen. Susan Collins on her enlightened and well thought out ethical position on not supporting Donald Trump (letter, David Oshansky, Oct. 21).

Sen. Collins, who finds herself unable to support Trump, for obvious reasons, also feels she cannot support Hillary Clinton, due to her policies.

That is a classical moral dilemma that Collins solves in the right way by not voting for either candidate. That is a wonderful example for children and should be an example for all voters.

I know that it might be difficult for some special agents, who are sworn to follow orders, to understand without the opportunity to study ethics.

My congratulations to Sen. Collins. She is the best model for us all.
