A “yes” vote on Question 2 will add a 3 percent surcharge tax on individuals with incomes above $200,000 to create a state fund for school districts. If Question 2 passes, small business owners will not be able to afford to give donations to non-profit agencies. I believe that a lot of those individuals will leave Maine (I would recommend New Hampshire).

The Maine Education Association might want to take a good look at the school system in Florida. The Florida system has very few administrators for thousands of students. That system, with fewer administrators, has saved millions of taxpayers’ dollars and works well.

I believe that its is about time the school systems base pay raises on cost of living increases, just the same as Social Security does, with the exception of promotions.
