Cal Thomas in his god-awful column in the Sun Journal on Thursday, Sept 29, (it really was poorly written and thought out), uses an “analogy” of Jesus overturning the tables in the temple to illustrate his poorly conceived argument.

Jesus was not angry with the “elites.” He was angry with the religious people and their leaders.

The analogy holds, but not in the way Thomas thinks. The churches of today, like the temple in Jesus’ day, have misunderstood and misapplied their task and do deserve the wrath of the people.

It really doesn’t apply to Thomas’ argument.

People who don’t understand the Bible shouldn’t casually grab a story to fluff up their thoughts. It generally fails miserably.
