LISBON — Chase Collier’s unassisted goal in the second overtime gave Lisbon a thrilling 3-2 win over Mountain Valley in field hockey action Monday.
Collier’s tally came with 6:39 remaining in the second extra frame. She also scored the Greyhounds’ first goal in the opening half. Sydney Plourde scored in the second half for Lisbon (8-3) to tie the game.
Marissa Crosby and Avery Sevigny scored in the first half to give the Falcons a 2-1 advantage at the break.
Mikayla Harnden made eight saves for the Greyhounds, and Alyssa Alcurs had nine for Mountain Valley.
Edward Little 3, Brunswick 0
BRUNSWICK — The Edward Little field hockey team went on the road and earned a 3-0 shutout over Brunswick in KVAC action Monday.
Kaylie Vallee scored in the first half, and then Oceanna Chamberlain and Kiara Fornier added goals in the second half for the Red Eddies. All three scores came on rebounds.
Edward Little (6-5-1) goalkeepers Emmy Lashua and Delaney Morneau (two saves) combined for the shutout. Brunswick’s (5-7) Ainsley Harrower made 11 saves on 14 shots.
Boys’ soccer
Lisbon 1, Mt. Abram 0
SALEM — Glenn Hill’s header with 14:24 left in the first half was enough for the Lisbon boys’ soccer team in a 1-0 victory over Mt. Abram on Monday.
Greyhounds (6-1-2) goalkeeper Jacob Sautter made five saves on five shots, while Mt. Abram’s (4-3-2) Xavier Romanoski stopped five of the six shots he faced.
Traip 3, Buckfield 2
BUCKFIELD — Buckfield mounted a comeback, but it fell short in a 3-2 loss to Traip in boys’ soccer action on Monday.
The Rangers took a 3-0 lead on two goals by Louden Dennis — one in the first half and another in the second — and another by Ryan Perkins.
Matt Beaucage lead the Bucks’ rally by scoring a header off of an Ethan Jackson cross late in the game. Ten minutes later, Beaucage scored again from outside the box off a bending ball. Traip goalkeeper Jayce Nielsen made a save in the final 30 seconds off of another Beaucage play to seal the win.
Nielsen finished with six saves, while Buckfield’s Jake Kraske had five.
Girls’ soccer
Madison 3, Lisbon 1
WATERVILLE — Lisbon lost to Madison 3-1 in girls’ soccer action Monday at Thomas College.
After trailing 1-0 at halftime, Jasmin Le scored off an assist by her sister Kaylin Le less than five minutes into the second half, tying the match at 1-1.
Madison (10-1-0), though, added two more goals, from Emily Edgerly and Madeline Wood, to notch the victory. Wood also scored the first-half goal.
Lisbon (6-2-2) goalkeeper Ali Sult made 19 saves. Madison’s Lauren Hay was much less busy, only needing to stop two shots in the game.
