I am concerned about Maine’s drug crisis and so is my representative, Ellie Espling. She understands that the state’s response to the drug crisis must include enforcement, treatment and prevention. She supported a bill that increased the number of drug enforcement agents. In that bill, the Legislature also dedicated money for treatment. Espling believes that put a temporary band-aid on a larger problem and hopes to be back for further work.

Drug problems and drug abuse are not new issues, but Maine is in a crisis. She sees the need for more work to be done to assess what treatment and prevention efforts have the best results, so that Maine can focus its efforts on what helps people the most.

I trust Ellie Espling to be my voice in Augusta. I will vote for her so she can continue the good work she has started.
