It was only a few years ago when Thornton-Cheverus was one of the best rivalries in the state. One 65-0 TA win later, that rivalry is dormant.
2. Bonny Eagle (2-0) (3)
The Scots received a push from week one surprise team Scarborough, but they held tough defensively for a key early win.
3. Windham (2-0) (2)
The Eagles only drop a spot due to Bonny Eagle’s seemingly stronger opponent last week. Windham whipped Bangor 37-0 and looks like the Class of A North so far.
4. Brunswick (2-0) (4)
In week two the Dragons demolished Lawrence, which gave Skowhegan a scare in week one. The Brunswick machine is running on all cylinders.
5. Falmouth (2-0) (5)
Westbrook was looked at as a Class B South contender. Falmouth went and beat the Blue Blazes by 24 points in week two.
6. Portland (1-1) (7)
Portland’s shaky start to the season lasted until halftime in week two, then the Bulldogs broke a tie with Edward Little by scoring 26 unanswered points.
7. Scarborough (1-1) (6)
The Red Storm showed they still belong among the state’s elite, even if it came in a close loss to Bonny Eagle.
8. Biddeford (2-0) (NR)
The Tigers take Skowhegan’s spot as a Class B team in these rankings. After edging Marshwood in week one, Biddeford blew out Noble in week two.
9. Winslow (2-0) (8)
The Black Raiders scored their second blowout win in as many weeks, and only move down thanks to Biddeford’s exceptionally strong start.
10. Wells (2-0) (10)
The Warriors had no problem with Freeport in week two, and have now outscored their two opponents 85-6.
