LEWISTON — Community means so much more than where you live for Angie Snow.
Snow, who lives in Auburn with her husband and children, is serving as cabinet chairwoman of United Way of Androscoggin County’s 2016 United Way Annual Campaign. Snow, who’s in her sixth year volunteering with United Way, said her time on the campaign’s leadership team has been both humbling and eye-opening.
“I live here. I work here and I’m raising my family here,” said Snow. “I want my children to grow up knowing that this is what you do. I want them to be grateful for what we have and to share with others — be it through monetary donations or volunteering.”
The 2016 Campaign Cabinet is comprised of local business leaders that volunteer their time to strengthen and build relationships with corporate and community partners. Members share United Way’s message and work with current and prospective supporters to increase the campaign’s scale in both support and dollars.
Other committee members include Campaign Vice Chairwoman Nicole Lajoie, Mike Barriault, Shane Wright, Bill Tracy, Jeffrey Geiger, Sean Doyle, Luke Jensen and Mark Bonin.
Cabinet members will be officially introduced Friday, Sept. 16, at the 2016 United Way Campaign Kick-Off Breakfast at Hilton Garden Inn Auburn Riverwatch. Following the event, more than 250 community members will take to the streets to help nonprofits and elderly residents throughout Androscoggin County during United Way’s 15th Annual Day of Caring.
