DIXFIELD — RSU 10 directors offered the superintendent position to an as-yet-unnamed finalist Monday night, but a contract had not been signed, according to superintendent’s secretary Judith Houghton.

Board Chairman Bruce Ross and the finalist are scheduled to meet this week to discuss contract terms, Houghton said.

Superintendent Craig King left to become superintendent of Regional School Unit 15 in Gray-New Gloucester in August. Former RSU 9 Superintendent Michael Cormier is serving in an interim capacity.

Also on Monday night, the resignation of Mexico Elementary School nurse Lori St. Hilaire was accepted, effective Nov. 1, or sooner if a suitable replacement is hired.

A school director from Sumner is being sought to succeed Martha Sheldon who did not seek re-election. Those interested should contact the Sumner Town Office.
