FARMINGTON — The Healthy Community Coalition of Greater Franklin County has announced its September schedule for mobile health unit outreach.

Staff will offer services including blood pressure and cholesterol checks; cancer prevention; nutrition, physical activity and tobacco information; one-on-one health counseling; lead-poisoning prevention; body composition analysis, a tracking tool for weight-loss and fitness and nutrition programs; well water safety information; car seat assistance; and assistance with referrals to health assistance programs.

Additional services include colon cancer screening kits for those who qualify and body composition analysis. The test kits, a less invasive way to screen for colon cancer, can be completed in the privacy of the home. Body composition analysis allows participants to track changes in muscle and fat tissue when weight may not change.

All services are free.

Farmington: 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13 and 27, at Wal-Mart.

Kingfield: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, and noon to 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, at Tranten’s Market. The market will offer $5 gift cards to the first individuals who receive a service at the mobile health unit on these dates.

The mobile health unit will offer screenings and feature local health care providers daily at the Farmington Fair.
