Numerous people incorrectly identified last week’s mystery photo as being taken from the Height of Land on Route 17. However, several dozen people correctly identified Moosehead Lake and the golf course on Kineo Island in the middle of the massive lake. The photo was taken from one of the trails going up Mt. Kineo. The winner, chosen randomly from all the correct entries, Nancy Beaule of Monmouth, has climbed Mt. Kineo many times and was able to identify the well-known landmark. “It’s such a beautiful hike and the climb is not too challenging, but just enough,” she said. Hikers are not only treated to spectacular views as they climb, but the top of the mountain offers a panoramic view of the islands from a viewing platform. The trails can only be accessed by taking a boat or ferry from the mainland. Beaule is the winner of a $20 gift card from Hannaford Supermarkets.
