DEAR SUN SPOTS: Good morning. Regarding the column mentioning the reader who needs a basement cleaned out, our business does exactly this, and has for the past two years. In fact, we were mentioned in Sun Spots a couple of years ago and Kathryn Skelton did a write-up on us a year ago.
Heritage Collectibles is a small art, antiques and used furniture shop at 189 Main St. in Lewiston. We will pick up leftovers from garage sales, do home clean-outs, etc. We’ll also look at collections and offer an opinion as to their value (although we are not appraisers for insurance purposes). And depending on the items you have, we may buy them outright, or take them on consignment at the shop.
We’d be happy to help Bonnie or anyone else in a similar situation. — Linda, Lewiston.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: Hi, perhaps Sun Spots could pass along this recommendation to Bonnie who was looking for someone to remove furniture from her mother’s home.
I recently hired Leone’s Junk Removal to dispose of some furniture at my house. He was prompt, professional and reasonably priced. Here is his contact information: Leone’s Junk Removal at www.leonesjunkremoval.com, or call at (207) 740-7002. — Kris, No Town.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: If any of your kind Sun Spots readers plan to do some fall cleaning, clearing, de-cluttering or purging, the Lewiston Auburn Kiwanis Club can help. The club is hosting a yard sale and is sending out a call for donations. We will gladly accept all gently used items: household goods, small furniture, tools, children’s toys and games, usable and unbroken sports equipment, and/or any other unwanted items.
This fundraising event will be held from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at United Methodist Church, 439 Park Ave., Auburn, rain or shine. Please email ahannon15@gmail.com or ruthd44@gwi.net before Saturday, Sept. 17, to make arrangements for dropping off your items. If local, we may even be able to pick up your donation.
Proceeds earned at the yard sale will help support the Kiwanis International Eliminate Project — a worldwide mission to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus (a deadly yet highly preventable disease). We very much appreciate your help. — The Lewiston Auburn Kiwanis Club.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: I have an old walnut piano that I no longer want and am willing to give it to someone who can use it. I have the original bill of sale from The Smith American Organ and Piano Co. in Boston, Mass., sold for $265 on July 23, 1889, to Mr. John Heald. If interested, call (207) 346-6811, or email gossfarm@roadrunner.com. — Walter, Mechanic Falls.
