MEXICO — The Police Department responded to the following incidents recently:

• Aug. 24: Radio Shack on Main Street reported that sometime between 5:30-7 p.m. on Aug. 24, someone took a box of CB radios left on the steps to be picked up. Estimated value is $150. Police Chief Roy Hodsdon said he has a couple of suspects.

• Aug. 24, 4 p.m.: A Granite Street resident reported a threatening call to burn down a residence. The resident recognized who the caller was and saw him driving away. Hodsdon said William Murphy, 69, of Pearl Street, had been drinking and had parked his car in his driveway. He was preparing to leave again when police arrived.

As police officer Rob Drouin tried to arrest Murphy, he was struck on the side of the head by Murphy. Hodsdon said the officer was okay.

Hodsdon said Murphy was arrested on a probation hold due to use of alcohol, and charged with terrorizing, operating while under the influence (Class C), assaulting an officer and refusing to submit to arrest. Murphy is current in the Oxford County Jail.

• Aug. 23, 1:29 a.m.: Zachary Demars, 20, Carthage, was arrested on a charge of violation of bail conditions and received a summons for possession of a schedule W drug, by police officer Justin Carter.

• Aug. 23: Police responded to a complaint of a loud party of Mitchell Street. Hodsdon said eight juveniles, ages 15-20, were cited for possession of alcohol. Nathan Blodgett, 18, who lives at the residence, was charged with furnishing a place for minors to consume alcohol. More charges are pending.

• Aug. 17: Travis Cyr, 31, Hanover, was arrested on a warrant charging $670 in unpaid fines by police officer Justin Carter. He was transported to the Oxford County Jail.
