The Franco-American Women’s Institute is celebrating its 20th anniversary with the publication of “Heliotrope: French Heritage Women Create,” an anthology of written works and visual arts to mark the present, active, creative lives of the women of French heritage culture.

The Franco-American Women’s Institute promotes these women’s contributions through its online presence and by publishing their creativity. The anthology was edited by FAWI Executive Director Rhea Cote Robbins. Among the 130 women with featured works are several from the Lewiston-Auburn area.

This anthology presents a snapshot of the lives these women of French heritage live as they exist in the present. This anthology incorporates the lives of the women who make up this cultural heritage, and it offers to present and future generations a vivid compilation of voices and visuals to express modern-day women of French heritage and their creative works.
